Your Presence is the Present

The holiday season is upon us, and to that I say, ‘tis the season to be sovereign, Queens!

Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. I love the music and the bells, the smell of the trees, the energy of the city, the quality time, and (unpopular opinion) the eggnog! I truly have the fondest memories from my childhood, and I love sharing traditions with my son, especially continuing my late Auntie Cheryl’s ornament legacy.

These days, this magical holiday has become so jacked up by capitalism, consumerism and scarcity messaging that it can feel like the meaning has gotten trampled by Black Friday - (nothing like a good fist fight over the last Tickle Me Elmo to get into the holiday spirit, am I right?!) - so I will be countering this energy by elevating my consciousness.

In the empowered words of RBG, “I DISSENT”.

The holidays offer a lot of opportunity to show up in your power, and I am choosing to spend mine with intention.

This year, being present is the present :) 

Rather than buying gifts for everyone I know and running around frantically trying to get all of the “things” done, I will be honoring my time and energy as the valuable (and finite) commodities that they are, and focusing on quality time with the people I love. 

After all, when I think back to my childhood memories, it isn’t the presents that stand out the most. It is the snuggles while watching Rudolph, the magic of Christmas Eve, Santa Bingo and decorating the Christmas Tree.

Let’s reconnect to the magic of the holidays by rewiring our consumer conditioning, Queens. Your presence is more than enough <3
